Thailand is a beautiful country known for its paradise landscapes, temples and more. This land is in Southeast Asia and is full of opportunities for both learning and entertainment. There are three main regions to Thailand: Bangkok in the center with its city life and food, Chiang Mai in the north with its mountains and jungles, and Phuket in the south with its gorgeous beaches. Below, we have compiled a list of some of the best resorts within these areas as well as what they have to offer.
- 1 BANGKOK – The Capital
- 2 CHIANG MAI – North
- 3 PHUKET – South
BANGKOK – The Capital
Anantara Riverside Bangkok Resort:
This highly rated riverside side resort is no joke. Located along the Chao Phraya, Anantara offers countless amenities as well as stunning views! There are several festivities revolving around local cuisine, such as Nonstop Dim Sum or Seafood Night. It is very clear that not only does this resort want to have guests enjoy their relaxation, but they also want to help immerse their guests into Thai culture.
Shangri-La Hotel Bangkok:
With another beautiful setting comes another gorgeous riverside resort at Shangri-La Hotel Bangkok. This location includes more neutral tones as it tends to focus more around the relaxation of their guests versus excitement. There does not appear to be as many excursions or events through this location, however, it still offers beautiful views as well as an on-site salon and spa for all to enjoy.
Avani+ Riverside Bangkok:
To no surprise, our third Bangkok resort is also along the Chao Prayer river! Can you tell where the best spots are at yet in this city? The most exciting aspect of this resort would be the rooftop pool. With the height of the hotel, this infinity pool allows for an entire view of the Bangkok skyline as far as the eye can see! It is absolutely breathtaking and also not too far from nearby temples and shops for you to explore. (Picture via Avani+)
CHIANG MAI – North
Anantara Chiang Mai Resort
You may recognize the brand name, Anantara, listed again here. And to no surprise, the top Phuket resorts below will also feature one of these locations as well! This resort is located within the center of Chiang Mai along the Mae Ping River. This ancient city is filled with temples and endless history, and Anantara continues to encourage its guests to take advantage of these unique opportunities to learn more. Not only do they offer tours of Chiang Mai, but they even have cooking classes you can attend or even courses where you learn how to do Thai boxing!
Na Nirand Romantic Boutique Resort
This stunning resort is located just one block away from Anantara, but looks like an entirely new world on the inside. A shallow pool surrounded by gorgeous buildings is found within the doors, and at the opposite end of the pool you will see the tree of history. Na Nirand focuses more on the beauty of history and love stories passed down from long ago in order to create its romantic atmosphere. This resort is definitely a must-stay for couples, perhaps ones celebrating an anniversary or even newlyweds. (Picture via Na Nirand)
Shangri-La Chiang Mai
That’s right, it’s another Shangri-La location! This resort is also located within the heart of the city of Chiang Mai, but unlike our previous resorts here, this one is much more family focused. This hotel is full of great dining options as well as a large pool for all to enjoy. There is even a waterslide! For parents, do not worry, as there is still an on-site spa for you to enjoy as well.
PHUKET – South
Along the west coast side of Phuket, this resort can be found. There is plenty to do, including an oceanside infinity pool to enjoy. This location includes a spa and even a scuba diving centre (for both beginner and expert divers)! This couple-resort also features the ‘Clubhouse,’ which is a private feature that revolves around catering to just you. It includes exercise, followed by catered food as well as spending the remainder of your time relaxing poolside.
Anantara Mai Khao Phuket Villas
We could not exclude this resort on our list, are you seeing a pattern here? This location is located near the northern most point of Phuket, a short drive from the airport. The villas that you stay in are located along a lagoon with your own private pool. There are countless classes available as well, including Tai Chi, Pilates and cooking. This accommodation is perfect for relaxing in pure paradise.
Sri Panwa Phuket
Unlike the previous location, this one is located near the very south end of the region. However, similar to Anantara Mai Khao Phuket, this is another villa resort. Sri Panwa practically stands by itself at the end of a cape and is a truly breathtaking sight. This resort features the ability to rent a private boat for your own parties (or even kayaks if you would prefer the cheaper route) as well as several active events. (Picture via Sri Panwa Phuket)
Last but certainly not least, we feature one more villa resort based in south Phuket – V Villas. You get your own private pool along with these villas, but the highlight is the resort’s infinity pool with an outstanding view of the ocean. This is yet another accommodation revolving around wellness and relaxation, full of the popular classes that several resorts listed before, as well as including its own restaurants/bars for its guests to enjoy.
